Wow! It has been far too long since I have posted anything! I now have a 6 yr old, a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old!!!! The time seems to really fly when your days blur together and you have to almost squint your eyes in order to think hard enough about whether it was today that you took a shower, or yesterday!
Since it has been so long, and I would have far too much to talk about, I thought it would be fun to add a few of my favorite quotes directly from my children's mouths. I am AWFUL at keeping a baby book, so I decided to start three "My Quotable Kid" journals...available on Amazon.com
They are really quite cute, hard cover journals with more than enough space to enter funny or precious things your kids have said!
Long, long ago, November, 2008- Ben had brought Aidan to preschool that morning, and unfortunately got pulled over by a police officer. Aidan was a bit frightened, so Ben just explained that he was pulled over because he was driving too fast. Later that morning, when I went to pick him up, Aidan said, "Mom, I have to tell you something...Daddy got ran over by a cop!" HAHAHAHAHHA
December, 2008 - At supper, Aidan mentioned that he wanted to stay up all night with Daddy, but I said, "You've got school tomorrow!" Ben told him, "And I've got work tomorrow!" Caleb then said, "I've got home tomorrow."
January, 2009 - When bringing Aidan to preschool that morning, I reminded him that he would be riding the rainbow rider home, so he didn't need to watch for me. He said, "I'll keep that in mind."
January, 2009 - Aidan was examining his toes this morning, and said, "My toe thumbs (big toes) grow really fast!"
December, 2009 - Aidan was pondering life this evening, and asked Ben "When we die, do we go to heaven?" "Yes" Ben said. "So, can the people see us all the time?"
"Yes, they watch over us!" Aidan looked quite nervous as he looked up at our ceiling and said, "Can they even see you when you are in a house?"
This is not so much a one time quote, but something that Emily says over and over...
Whenever someone sneezes, coughs or burps, she says, "Scuse me!" She will also say, "sorry" when she runs into things like a couch or a wall.
February, 2010 - I was driving back from Awana with Emily and Caleb, when from the backseat Caleb said, "Mom, I'm hungry." Then Emily says, "Mom, I'm peatty (pretty)."
September, 2009 - "Dad, I know why girls don't have penises, it's because of their boobies." Caleb
October, 2009 - A raccoon was wandering aimlessly around the Wal-Mart parking lot (NOT the weirdest thing I have seen at Wal-Mart by the way) As we were driving away, Caleb said, "What kind of cat was that?"
December, 2009 - I was getting Caleb's coat on when I noticed a dried booger on the side of his cheek. I asked him how it got there and he said, "it got there by itself." I told him that was an awfully long ways for a booger to travel on it's own and he said as serious as a heart attack, "It's a magic booger, it walked."
Well, there you are, a small sampling of the joyous, weird and sometimed worrisome things that come out of my kids mouths! Of all the humorous, and witty things, my favorite quote from all of them remains to be, "I love you mommy!"
Good night, and enjoy EVERYTHING that comes from the mouths of your babes!
